Beat softened cream cheese, sugar, salt, and vanilla until smooth. In separate, chilled bowl, beat whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into cream cheese mixture.
Layering
7 Once cake layers are completely cooled, place one layer on serving plate. Pipe 1 inch border of frosting around edge of layer to contain well of strawberries in the middle. Repeat with second and third layer.
8 Frost top and sides of layered cake. Garnish with more fresh strawberries if desired.
9 Store in refrigerator.
